The MSF Supports the 2016 Laptop Initiative

Recently, the Mahwah Schools Foundation unanimously approved a $25,000 grant to support the new laptop initiative at Mahwah High School and Ramapo Ridge Middle School. The initiative, which aligns with the Foundation’s mission of supporting creativity, excellence and innovation in our schools, will bring more than 1,000 HP laptops into the classrooms over a two-year period. Members of the Foundation presented a check to the Board of Education at their meeting on March 16, 2016.

The Mahwah Schools Foundation celebrates the granting of its one millionth dollar

The Mahwah Schools Foundation celebrated the granting of its one millionth dollar at an event funded by the Mahwah Education Association. Dr. Charles Montesano, Superintendent of Schools, Catherine Bennett, Principal of Betsy Ross School, and Angela Clarkin, President of the Foundation, spoke to about 70 attendees. Demonstrations included Promethean Interactive Whiteboards as a classroom tool, a robot created by the high school’s Robotics Club, and Mandala tiles made by Joyce Kilmer art students. Programs funded by the Mahwah Schools Foundation have won national awards and the Foundation has received national recognition for its community involvement
